Oh Gordeler...

So last night I was at my book club meeting and I was talking to the Music Leader from Gordon's Primary at church. She was going on about how funny Gordon is and the hilarious things he does...my favorite...story was of the Sunday after President Monson was announced as the new Prophet. The teachers were talking to all the kids about the new First Presidency and they were naming the new counselors. Gordon was called on to name one of the new counselors and he choose the following response...
"The second counselor is Dieter F. Uchtdorf (split second pause) actually the second counselor is Dieter F. Poopdorf"
Soooooo.....yeah the Music lady went on to say that she was sorry but she could not stop laughing and every time Gordon caught her looking at him he would say something like...
"really his name is Poopdorf"
"did you know I used to know President Poopdorf"
etc. etc. etc.
Oh I just love my little pistol of a boy!

Scripture Power?

Any one who has children in primary knows the song Scripture Power
http://library.lds.org/nxt/gateway.dll/Magazines/Friend/1987.htm/friend%20october%201987.htm/scripture%20power%20.htm?fn=document-frameset.htm
(If you don't know it click the link and begin learning it...it is so darling and really a great song)
Well like most kids...it is a FAVORITE at our house!!
In fact it is so much a favorite that my dear sweet enthusiastic boys sing it all the time...
only they have added a little twist to the spiritual nature of it...
whenever the chorus begins....
[sung at the top of their sweet little lungs]
"scripture power (they hold up their scriptures) keeps me safe from sin...scripture power is the power to WIN"
with the word win...the scriptures that were being held up to show their excitement are thrown at each other....don't ask me how this has come to be but none the less it happens almost every time...it's a work in progress. After one such exuberant singing Oscar received a square hit...oops!

...we're seriously going to quit the throwing...poor oscar...who knew those little soft back Book of Mormons could do so much damage!!

The Biggest Cabela's in the WORLD!!

So....rumor has it that we have the BIGGEST Cabela's in the world...I have not checked out the facts yet but I would believe it...they had a full walk through aquarium. It was impressive for sure! The kids had a blast...and we even ate at the Cafe...Okay we brought food and sat in the Cafe to eat it...sorry the buffalo burger or elk sandwich weren't sounding too appetizing!

Looking into the pond at the hugest trout IN THE WORLD...that is probably true too becuase really it could have swallowed Eleanor WHOLE! The pond was just one side of an immense center piece with probably 100 stuffed animals from 3 moose fighting to over 10 musk oxen, 5-6 polar bears, a Grizzly, 8 buffalo, ton's of other sheepish animals, some other predators, TONS of little animals...you name an american animal and it was artfully stuffed and positioned on the Mountain! Depending on what side of the mountain you were on it was a different season...it really was cool...sometimes a little National Geographic for me. Gordon was FASCINATED with all the "predator attacking prey" displays...as those of you who know our little man can only imagine!

Oscar and Steve enjoying the "sheep from other places" display...this artful piece was decorated with sheep and deer from all over the WORLD!

Wrestlin' the kids into a picture...Gordon is very ellusive when it comes to pictures...much like the many many many animals in the back ground!

YOU GOTTA LOVE THOSE TEETH!!!
Can I just say again...this girl is a DREAM...the best baby!!

Oscar LOVED the buffaloes..oh and a correction...there were 8 or more buffalo 1 was taken down by wolves in another "scene" and I think vultures got to another one....oh wait the vultures were picking apart one of the foreign deer from the African display...eek!

There's nothing like 7" of snow...

...to remind you spring is still VERY far AWAY!!

Notice little Oscar's mismatched gloves...he NEVER keeps them on so we have random gloves everywhere!

Surprisingly this is Gordon's first Snow Angel...
it was the first thing he wanted to try when we got out here today!

Oscar coming to get me with a "snow ball" He kept running around saying "caught you, caught you" in stead of 'got you, got you' like Gordon and I were saying.

Two "snow cones" coming up...we still have some ready to eat in the freezer!

There's nothing like...

...a paper clip up your nose!

huh?

Yes, a paper clip UP your NOSE!

Saturday night when I was changing his diaper I noticed something up his nose, I thought it was just another giant booger as he tends to get with all the cold weather these days. So being a mom I did not hesitate to "pick it" for him. However to my horror as I began, I quickly noticed that this was no ordinary booger.
All of a sudden events from the last TWO days flashed before my eyes, Oscar coming in from the toy room looking very nervous but kind of laughing saying over and over again Nose, Nose, Nose...then trying to pick his nose... picking his nose all day LONG...nodding his head up and down and picking his nose...crying to me, while picking his nose...Each time I tried to pick his no with no reward.
I then quickly and calmly told Steve to grab the tweezers. When the proper tools were assembled I asked Steve to Hold his head...at this Steve began to worry and asked what was wrong. I briefly told him what had happened over the past two days...then in a jiff and a few flinches later we had the nose clogging culprit--a paper clip! It was totally slimed, totally huge in comparison to little Otter's nose, and totally disgusting!!!
