First Christmas at HOME!

So this year we spent our first Christmas at our own house! I was a little wistful wishing that we were home at my parents since that's where EVERYONE else was...but if we wanted to spend Christmas with Steve we were going to do it solo in Ohio!

It was WONDERFUL! we had so much fun getting all the Christmas PJs on (thanks mom) and sitting around reading all our Christmas stories! Then we tucked all the kids into bed (at like 7:30 which is a lot earlier than it would have been with all their cousins around) and got to tie up the loose ends and RELAX! We watched a movie and went to be relatively early! The morning though was the Best! Thank heavens for a husband who is a morning person...he was up and intercepting the children by the time I was sitting up! We had everything prepped the night before so I wasn't concerned with getting up early!

We got to come down and enjoy all of the kids as they opened their stockings and presents...we could take breaks to put stuff together or just play then start up again when we wanted to! We also got to start a new tradition of reading the letter from Santa reminding us about the true meaning of Christmas and telling us about all the symbols of Christmas and how they relate to Christ and His life!! We did this before we opened the stocking presents so it set a great tone! We stayed in our PJs ALL day!! It was actually Wonderful it didn't feel lazy it felt comfy! We had an invite to go to dinner at a friends but decided to stay home because really we just didn't want to get dressed!!

IN SHORT...it will be hard to do Christmas away from home again!
